I have developed a swelling below my left jaw suddenly 4 hours ago. I was diagnosed with oral squamous cell carcinoma 2.5 years ago and 1.5 mth backthere were some suspicious lesions observed by my oncologist and were were removed with CO2 laser as an excisional biopsy. The reports suggested hyperplasia and that area has healed but has white lesion over the mandible region of the gums where there are no more teeths. Oncologist suggested that this might stay that way and no treatment is required for now since the biopsy reports didn't suggest any malignancy and suggested to consult a periodontist. However, we're concerned with the sudden swelling in that region today.

There could be a small infection in the oral cavity which is leading to a lymph node enlargement. However, the swelling and the patient has to be examined by a doctor for diagnosis.
