Sweet mouth/tongue after steroids tabs
Hi docs, I am diagnosed with sarcoidosis stage 1. I am on steroids - methylprednisolone 40mg for (First 15 days), pantop 40 and seretide accuhaler 500mcg twice. After 6 days of medication, i feel like my mouth is full of sugar and i have lost taste. Everything i eat is sweet it me. Please suggest why it happened? And advice.

The altered taste sensation you are experiencing maybe due to uncontrolled blood sugar levels which is a side effect of steroid medications. Usually 1 stage of sarcoid does not require steroid therapy unless you are symptomatic. Also which part of your body is effected with sarcoid is also important. If you can give the above info, I will be able to better advise you the therapy required.
Next Steps
Check for blood sugar levels.
