Suspected perimenopause (hysterectomy)
My mother underwent a hysterectomy about 2 years ago. Since last year, she started experiencing symptoms such as hot flashes, tingling sensations, high blood pressure, and episodes of rapid heartbeat. After consultation, she was diagnosed with perimenopause/menopausal symptoms and was started on antidepressant medication, which significantly improved the hot flashes and some of the other symptoms. Recently, she has been experiencing irritation and swelling in her cheeks (the swelling has improved somewhat). She also continues to have episodes of feeling unusually warm or heated and irritated cheeks, during which her heartbeat increases. These symptoms usually improve after taking her prescribed medication. Could these current symptoms still be related to menopause, or should we investigate other possible causes ?

In case of hysterectomy, the oestrogen level suddenly drops because of absence of uterus called surgical menopause body doesn’t get much time to get adjusted to this natural change process. hot flushes and dryness in the vagina , thinning of skin is expected, but if symptoms are abrupt and unbearable, please consultant physician to rule out other causes of the symptoms
