Stomach pain
I came back from a 2-day trip, and because of that I couldn’t completely avoid spicy food even though I requested less spice. On Tuesday night, my stomach started feeling upset. I thought it was just gas, so I didn’t pay much attention. By Wednesday, I felt somewhat better. But on Thursday, my stomach became restless again throughout the day. On both Thursday and Friday, I felt pain when food was passing through my stomach, especially during breakfast in the morning. My whole stomach was aching, with the pain around 4–5 out of 10, and it also felt restless during the day. On Saturday, the pain during breakfast was less. Yesterday and today, the pain while eating seems to be gone. However, today (Sunday morning), my stool was partly yellow and partly blackish-grey. Since yesterday and today, I’ve also been feeling light-headed. I’m not sure if the stool color is related, because I’m currently on my period as well. what do i do?

I think you had a stomach upset but it subsided. However do look out for other signs in the next few days and monitor your stool. Weakness could be due to blood loss while menstruation. Hydrate well and follow up.

Your initial stomach pain after eating spicy travel food strongly points to acute gastritis or a superficial peptic ulcer (an irritation in your stomach lining). However, the sudden appearance of blackish-grey stool combined with feeling lightheaded requires immediate medical attention. In gastroenterology, dark, black, or tarry stools (known as melena) can indicate an Upper Gastrointestinal Bleed (UGIB), meaning your irritated stomach lining or an ulcer may be oozing a small amount of blood. As that blood travels through your digestive tract, stomach acid digests it, turning it black. While it is entirely possible that your lightheadedness is just from travel dehydration or regular menstrual blood loss, we must rule out an internal stomach bleed as our absolute top priority."

Your symptoms appear suggestive of gastritis/acidity likely triggered by spicy food intake. Kindly take plenty of fluids and avoid spicy, oily and outside food for a few days. Take light, soft and fibrous diet in small frequent meals. Since you have also mentioned blackish-grey stool and light-headedness, more detailed history is required regarding associated symptoms. For further evaluation and treatment, kindly consult with complete history if symptoms persist or worsen.

This sounds manageable and not something you should panic about 😊 A quick consultation can help rule out simple gastritis ,food irritation vs anything needing attention, and I’ll guide you.
