Stomach issue
Hello Doctor, I am 42 years old, 80 kg, height 5’9”. I need your opinion regarding my digestion issues. For the last 1 year I have acidity/stomach burning, frequent burping, heaviness/tightness in stomach after eating, and a lot of smelly gas passing from below. Sometimes when my stomach is tight it feels like my breathing is restricted. Gas release gives relief. My stool is daily and normal. My endoscopy done 4 years back was normal. Thyroid and Vitamin B12 reports are normal. Current medicines: * Thyronorm 100 mcg * Sompraz IT * Prodep 10 mg (symptoms seem more noticeable after starting this) * Livoluk powder Could this be GERD, functional dyspepsia, IBS/bloating, or medicine-related? Do I need any further tests like H. pylori, or should my Sompraz IT/Prodep medicines be reviewed?

Hi, these symptoms sound like a mix of acid reflux and functional dyspepsia, common even with normal past endoscopy. Your current medicines are reasonable, but Prodep can sometimes worsen gas. Continue diet changes and take meds as advised. A consultation would help clarify this.

Hello 👋 First You didn't mentioned about thyroid problem but you mentioned your taking Thyronorm 100mcg means you are having hypothyroidism In hypothyroidism constipation is common which may result in bloating But passing smelly stools is due to fat in your stools (steatorrhoea) which may be due to fat malabsorption No it's not IBS or medicine related It's due to hypothyroidism and peptic ulcers
Next Steps
stool fat examination H pylori test  needed so that appropriate treatment can be planned
Health Tips
Avoid eating outside food like fried rices ; spicy oily food Maintain daily regular timely intake of food eat easily digestible foods and drink plenty of water consult for further information

If your thyroid is normal. Please let me know why you are continuing to take Thyronorm and whether it was prescribed for a previous thyroid disorder. Are you experiencing constipation? If yes, please tell me the frequency and consistency of your stools and the reason for taking Livoluk. For proper evaluation and treatment guidance, please schedule a consultation.
Next Steps
Meanwhile: • Avoid taking tea on an empty stomach. • Do not skip meals. • Eat meals at regular timings. • Stay well hydrated and include adequate fiber in your diet.
