Stomach heaviness, acidity, and burning in the chest together is a classic presentation of acid reflux (GERD) or gastritis. However, at 43 years of age, a burning chest sensation should also be evaluated to rule out any cardiac cause — this distinction is important before starting any treatment.
Next Steps
Get an ECG done to rule out a cardiac cause for the chest burning, and avoid heavy, spicy meals in the meantime. Feel free to consult me directly on Practo for a detailed evaluation and the right treatment plan.

Your symptoms of stomach heaviness, acidity, and a burning sensation in the chest are commonly seen with acid reflux (GERD), gastritis, or indigestion. These symptoms can be triggered by spicy foods, irregular eating habits, stress, smoking, alcohol, or overeating. Since the symptoms have been present for about a week, they are most likely related to the digestive system, but persistent symptoms should be evaluated further
Next Steps
Avoid spicy, oily, and acidic foods, tea/coffee on an empty stomach, and late-night meals. Eat smaller, frequent meals and stay well hydrated. If the symptoms persist, recur frequently, or worsen, it would be advisable to consult a General Physician for a detailed evaluation and appropriate treatment. Seek medical attention sooner if you develop severe chest pain, difficulty swallowing, vomiting, or unexplained weight loss. If you wish, you may also book a consultation through the platform for personalized medical advice.
