Steroids treatment for covid patient
My father in law is 60 years old. He is diabetic and is also covid positive. He is being administered with Steroids. He is also taking metamorphin for sugar control. Question- Can he take metamorphin when steroids are being administered? Hope it doesn't impact negatively.

It is better to have a good glycemic control in covid patients. If steroid are being given, try to control sugar levels from 100 to 180. Very essential for faster recovery. If sugar will be uncontrolled then higher chances of Mucormycosis as well.

It’s okay to continue metformin while on steroids. Doesn’t not cause side effects. In fact it is necessary and dose may have to be increased because steroids can increase sugar levels
