Stabbing pain after breastfeeding
Hi Doc, Im a mother of 2.5 month old  and breastfeeding my baby .I had breast infection 15 days ago. Woke up high fever &chills breast engorgement and redness in left breast. Nipple pain was severe and was not able to even wear clothes . Wbc count was high and was given antibiotics for 5 days and after 5 days wbc count came down and doctor told infection s cleared. There was no pus collection or abscess according to ultrasound report. But i was still not able to feed baby directly nor pump . I used to sqeez milk manually and feed him. Then slowly started feeding directly but i had severe sharp stabbing pain in the breast which radiate from the nipple after every feed . Nipple looked swollen always and painful right below the nipple. Sometimes nipple looks flat and shiny pink color. I don't think its a latching problem or cracked nipple is issue as i dont have any problem with other breast. Not able to understand whats happening nor find any remedy. what could be issue?   please help
