Spotting start of menses

Asked for Female, 22 Years

Hi! Me and my partner had sex on 19th of march and his frenulum broke in between and we realised we both were bleeding. My date for menses was 20th of march. And i am spotting after this incident. Everytime i go to the loo i have dark blood. Are these periods?In addition i had ipill last month for the first time is it the side effect?
