Spotting but no period

Asked for Female, 23 Years

I’ve been having dark brown spotting for around 2 days with very mild cramps, my period was due around a week or two ago but hasn’t arrived yet. I recently got the copper coil fitted (a week ago) and didn’t have any unprotected sex leading up to that (after my last period which was longer than usual) I have taken a pregnancy test which came back negative but I’m still not sure why my period could be late as it’s always very regular.
