Spotting and pelvic pain

Asked for Female, 22 Years

Ive been spotting for 4 days now ive never spotted before and i also havent had my period in 4 months this year ive only gotten it 2 times which i know is very irregular i was wondering if this sudden spotting is a bad sign since ive never spotted before also i am sexually active so could that also be something causing all this with the spotting im having pelvic pain on my left side only i would like some suggestions as to what could possibly be wrong
