Soreness in abdomen and lower back
I have a history of PCOS. My last period started on 17 May and came on time after a 30-day cycle. However, the bleeding pattern was different from usual — I had heavy flow only for around 2.5 days, whereas normally my periods last 5 days with 3–4 heavy days and 1 light day. Since the last few days, I have been experiencing soreness in my lower back along with mild pain/discomfort in the upper and lower abdomen. Sometimes the pain shifts to the left or right side and hips. The pain is mild to moderate and comes and goes. I had protected intercourse and am planning to take a home pregnancy test just to be sure. Could this be related to PCOS, ovulation pain, hormonal changes, or an ovarian cyst? Should I get any tests or an ultrasound done?
