Sore nipple after feed
My second son was born 8 days ago. My first daughter is 6 years old. I am lactating well and my son is feeding well solely on my milk. He feeds once in 1.5 to 2.5 hrs . Since 4-5 days I have been having sore nipples which turns white after every feed n sometimes the white tip also looks red. I have been applying ghee initially n now nip care cream. It still hurts to feed n in between feeds. Plz advice

Hello ! Sore breasts are somewhat common in the initial days of lactation due to excess milk or wrong positions in feeding etc etc, u will have pain heavyness hardness etc but u have said u have redness also, it might be mild infection, Need not worry about it esp if not associated with fever and  chills, if not better in a week more, consult a good obstetrician and go for mild medication. As u r already applying ghee u can continue that, but donot apply hot fomentations and all, as it might become an ulcer later.
