In extreme conditions it can be done under short anesthesia however there is mostly no need as by giving injectable or oral pain killers and muscle relaxants the procedure becomes bearable. It is just a matter of few minutes and you are done with it. No need to fear unnecessarily. Good luck.

Usually you should ask the Sonologist for same, as they have no facility of admitting the pregnancy so they are not doing under anesthesia.
