I have a swelling on the thumb of my left foot which is somewhat like a corn. I have put corn caps on it and after 8 to 10 days the dead skin comes off and the wound seems to heal. But then in a day or two it again gets back to the original position and the swelling and pain returns

yes as per ur description it seems corn only.. in homeopathy having good medicines to treat the corn successfully. consult ur nearest homoeo dr. or can contact me.
till then follow this tips which will help to reduce pain.
1. use soft shoes or footwear having good cushion
2. avoid pressure on that affected area. as much pressure u give on that area. it will go that much deeper.
