Small umbilical hernia
Hi we checked with doctor and in scanning report they told like my wife has small umbilical hernia.but the doctor told the hole is small right now no need for any treatment later u can do a surgery.I want to know whether because of this problem whether it causes any digestion problem and all and also want to know if we do surgery now whether later if we become pregnant it will again cause a hernia.And is it good to do now or later surgery

Your question is actually a very difficult question. When to operate has to be decided by you and the patient. Points to understand is that the more you wait, the more the hernia gets bigger so you have to keep surveillance regularly by self EXAMINATION and  EXAMINATION by a surgeon and by ULTRASOUND. If surgery is done at this stage it will cause pain during upcoming pregnancy and will cause  difficulty in caesarian delivery, also reccurrance chances will be higher.
