Small hiatus with lax les

I got my endoscopy done yesterday. I got to know I have small hiatus and Lax les. Doctor said to have medicines and lifestyle change for 1 month Is small hiatus worrisome. Will I ever be symptoms free? Is there any need for surgery? Please tell how can I live a normal life.
