Slightly pink eye in the morning
Hi, I am an undergraduate student, and currently do not live with my parents due to their job transfers. 3 days back, I had a feeling that my eye felt a bit puffy and woke up to a really minimal amount of yellow pus. Although it does not hurt throughout the day, it still feels a bit weird. Today morning, my left eye was slightly pink with the yellow pus accumulated which I cleaned from a warm cloth. However, these symptoms are only noticeable early morning, otherwise my eye just feels a bit heavy. I'm really terrified as my other eye has now started to feel a bit weird as well. I do have eyedrops prescribed for dry eyes which I have been using every night before bed, but I am really scared. Someone kindly help!

Care AI Shimmer
Hi there! Happy to help. This could mostly be the onset of a mild form of infective conjunctivitis, start an antibiotic eye drop such as Moxifloxacin, one drop 6 times a day for one week. Also purchase a new lubricant eye drop and use with same frequency but leave a gap of 5 minutes between both drops. If symptoms persist consult your local ophthalmologist. We cannot completely rule out an allergic cause either, as we would need to physically examine.
Next Steps
Start above eye drops, wash hands regularly
Health Tips
Avoid rubbing eyes and use of common articles with family/peers
