Should I continue with statins
2 months back I found out Ihad 146 lad cholesterol in a routine blood test. A doctor prescribed me 10 mg rosustatin for this. Now the recent blood test shows ldl at 83. My doctor now tells me to discontinue the statin. However from all the information I have seen online, statins are a lifelong medication and If I discontinue it my ldl will rise again which will significantly increase my risk of heart disease in future. So should I discontinue or not?
