Severe pain due to gas
Hi, I have gastric issue in general.. But from last 6-7 months whenever I eat spicy food I get some gas and the gas sometime gets trapped in the body and a severe pain below the chest and till stomach in both sides comes, the pain intensity is so high that I am not able to breath or speak. The body starts shivering due to pain. Any movement increases the pain. This happens once/twice in a month. If I vomit/burp then the pain goes of after sometime(5-10min). Mostly the pain stays till half hour but it makes it extremely difficult to handle. I feel suffocated. Please suggest what type of tests shall I do to understand the cause of the issue. Is there a quick way to reduce gas when in severe pain. Also please suggest which doctor I shall visit for my issue. Thank you

Care AI Shimmer
[ ] Hi as symptoms are suggestive of gastritis. Need to follow some lifestyle changes. Take food timely. Avoid cabbage, capsicum, citrus fruits ( for a while). Don't drink water with food, take after 40 min. as much as needed thereafter. Don't lie down immediately after food. Finish night meal by 8.30 pm maximum. Go to bed after minimum 1 hour after dinner. Always keep stomach 1/4 th empty.Divide meal into 5-6 times a day. Avoid the particular food, which is being observed to cause bloating, fullness, upper abdominal pain/ discomfort, reflux symptoms etc. A good acid blocker is needed to check excess acid production. Some times in intractable cases one need to go ahead with Upper Gastroscopy to rule out gastric ulcer/erosions and presence of H PYLORI infection.Feel free to ask any further quary related to this problem.
