IBS-M is a functional gut disorder — not dangerous, but chronic and relapsing.
Treatment focuses on lifestyle + diet + symptom control rather than “one permanent cure.”
Next Steps
1. Lifestyle & Diet (Cornerstone of Long-term Management)
- Low-FODMAP diet: Avoid foods that ferment easily (beans, cabbage, onion, wheat, milk, artificial sweeteners).
-High-fiber diet helps regulate stools — but increase gradually.
-Hydration: 2–3 L/day.
-Small, regular meals instead of heavy meals.
-Limit caffeine, alcohol, fried & processed foods.
2. Medications- use prescription only during flare up.
