It depends on the trimester you are in. Many cough syrups with soothing action are generally safe, but in the first trimester it is better to avoid medicines as much as possible. If required later on, syrups with dextromethorphan are usually preferred under medical advice.
Next Steps
Please share which trimester and how long the cough has been there. Meanwhile, try steam inhalation, warm fluids, and honey-based lozenges if not diabetic. These often help with throat dryness and irritation.
Health Tips
Do not self medicate, especially in the first trimester. If symptoms persist or worsen, consult a doctor. For direct consultation you may contact on nine six five zero nine zero one eight seven six

Safe cold medications you can take while pregnant include dextromethorphan (Delsym) for cough, chlorpheniramine for runny nose, and acetaminophen (Tylenol) for sore throat or headache. Most steroid nasal sprays, such as budesonide (Rhinocort Allergy), are also considered safe.

I got your concern. During pregnancy, most cough syrups should be avoided unless prescribed by a doctor. For dry cough and throat irritation👇 Take warm water frequently, do salt-water gargles. Honey with a little warm water or ginger can help soothe the throat. Steam inhalation can reduce dryness. Keep yourself well hydrated.
Next Steps
If symptoms are troubling, a simple glycerin/honey-based cough syrup (without alcohol, codeine, or strong antihistamines) may be considered, but only after consulting her gynecologist

It depends on the trimester you are in. Many cough syrups for dry cough that have soothing action. And provide calm in dry cough are generally safe. If you are in the first trimester try to avoid taking any medication. Or if necessary take as low dose as possible for short time. As the organ generation process is taking place in the first trimester. Dextromethophan syrup is advised if you are in the 2nd and 3rd trimester.
Next Steps
Please get in touch and let me know the trimester you are in. And the situation of cough. So as to start the medication or not.

Hi! It would be better if you get your cough evaluated since there could be many reasons for dry cough. By the time, you can take Syp. Alex and TusQ lozenges and see if the cough gets relieved. If it doesn't resolve kindly consult your obstetrician.
