Retinopathy of prematurity( ROP) affects immature vasculature in the eye of immature babies. It may be mild with no visual defect or may be aggressive with new blood vessel formation. It may progress to retinal detachment & blindness. These days smaller & younger babies are surviving, so incidence of ROP has increased.  Laser therapy is effective, when laser was not available, cryotherapy was only available therapy, follow up is must for ROP suffering child.
