After rct the tooth becomes weak . If you dont put a cap the tooth will break eventually. Metal cap can be from 800-4000 dependi g on your locality .

Yes, CAP or crown is absolutely necessary after RCT as tooth becomes weak and can fracture with masticatory loads unless protected with crown. Crown can be made of metal, ceramic fused to metal or ceramic alone. The cost increases in that order and ranges from Rs 1500 to Rs 15000. It is advised that patient doesnt chew anything hard from RC treated tooth till the time crown is placed.
