Hello, Caries can be prevented by maintainance of oral hygiene. If cavity is formed it can be filled and maintainance can be done review every 6 months has to be done. And if pain arises then root canal treatment is must. There is no medication only as treatment. You can start with antibiotic course and get rct done.

Hi. I’m afraid to tell you that there is no medication that can help prevent the spread of infection within a tooth once the decay has set in. If u have delayed the root canal for almost a year I would advise you to see a endodontist and understand if the tooth can still be saved. Else we would have to look into other options to restore the function with respect to tat region.

Only ways to save teeth from caries is 1) Prevention 2) Fillings ( at early stage when there is only cavitation but no pain) 3) Root canal Treatment. Kindly consult a dr and get the needful done.
