Replacement of Cu-T
Dear Drs, I had gotten Cu-T on 11-11-2018 whose validity is for 5 yrs. Now it's 2023. When is the right time to get it removed or replaced? What happens if I delay in getting it replaced or removed? Please guide. Thanks in advance.

You should wait for five years to be completed from the date of insertion of Copper T. Nothing will happen even if you delay the removal or replacement of Copper T by 3-4 months.

Now it's time to get it replaced. Delaying for 3-4 months is not going to affect its contraceptive efficacy. U can get it removed on day 4or 5 of your periods. The same day it can be removed and new one can be replaced

Get it done just after your menses in October or November which falls before 11/11/23. If u delay it, the birth control effectiveness decreases, but no side effects on your body as such.
