My big toenail was injured about 3 years earlier and since then it keeps falling off again after regrowth. The current nail is partially lifted from the nail bed and feels hollow underneath. It has yellowish discoloration, ridges, thickening, and mild dark discoloration near the base from previous trauma.
I recently trimmed the upper loose part but there is still a layer of discoloured nail stuck like a flap on newly growing one(could be seen in the pictures). The nail feels weak and may get stuck on bedsheets or shoes. There is no major pain currently, but I am concerned about repeated nail loss, possible fungal infection, and whether the nail will regrow normally. I need advice on treatment and proper nail care.
