Hi , given the information looks like there is a reinfection in the tooth that has been treated already. Kindly visit a dentist so that you can get re evaluated, an x-ray will help to identify the cause for the reinfection so that it can be treated and your child can be relieved off the pain. Thinking its a milk tooth that it will fall off, or that an already treated tooth cannot get reinfected is a misconception.
Next Steps
Please visit a dentist for further evaluation.
Health Tips
Take necessary precautions before the pain worsens.

Hello Visit the dentist again to get an x-ray done and your dentist will guide you after looking at the radiograph.
Next Steps
Visit the Pedodontist who will be a children specialist and they can guide you well.
Health Tips
Just get the treatment done or else the infection will increase and later it is difficult for the child. It's better to save the tooth because he is still 5 years. The milk tooth it will take time to fall. If the tooth is not there it will lead to space closure which will cause hindrance to the permanent tooth eruption

To determine the best course of action, we'll start by taking an X-ray to assess the current condition of the tooth. This will help us evaluate the extent of the issue and decide whether a re-root canal treatment (RCT) is necessary or if medication can resolve the problem. The X-ray will also provide valuable information about the surrounding area and gum region, allowing us to make a more accurate diagnosis and develop an effective treatment plan. Let's proceed with the X-ray and discuss the next steps based on the findings.

A well done root cal rarely fails. In case of failure it is best to approach a specialist in root canal treatment (MDS in Conservative dentistry and Endodontics) First the Endodontist will rule out decayed and infected adjacent teeth and possible periodontal involvement with clinical examination Endodontist will do clinical tests & take a good RVGs/ radiographs to diagnose reason for failure and make a diagnosis Endodontist will start analgesics and antibiotics in case of severe pain and swelling Next the Endodontist will explore options of retreatment/ extraction and replacement of missing teeth with implant/ bridge, after explaining prognosis of both options
