Currently, we routinely advise the RSV monoclonal antibody (nirsevimab) for preterm infants, babies who required oxygen support, and children with immunocompromised conditions.
Because of the high cost, it is not universally recommended for all children. However, during the RSV season, we do consider it for children up to 2 years of age.
Your baby is 20 months old, and there is still significant RSV circulation at present. If cost is not a concern, you may opt for the injection.
It is a single-dose injection and provides protection for approximately 5–6 months.
Respiratory syncytial Virus vaccine currently is approved only until infants upto 8months age.
But there are cases where we consider giving RSV vaccine in toddlers upto 19months of age if they are immunocompromised.
Would suggest giving antibody shot Nersivimab
