Regarding Rabies prophylaxis
Hi doctors I am curious about this disease and asking for it. Last time during dec, I took 5 shots of anti rabies vaccine (no known exposure). After 3 months passed from the last vaccine, I again fear, especially for unknown exposures like moisture somewhere etc. I know this relates to OCD, but I have some questions in my mind.. My doctor said after these vaccines, for 3-5 years I need not worry even about bites. But WHO recommends after 3 months, again I am unsafe. So, what exactly is "safety" with regards to these vaccines? Is safety means, only from unknown exposure and with known ones ie bite or lick, 2 boosters. Can any doctor answer in detail please.
