The best time to conceive is about 48 hours around the time of ovulation. The ovary releases an egg about 14 days prior to the onset of a period. So if your wife's cycle is 26 days. She is ovulating around day 12 of her cycle. If you have intercourse every other day starting from day 9 till day 16 you have a 30-40% chance of conceiving per cycle. Your chances of conceiving naturally are 90% in the first two years from starting to try so you have plenty of time. The key is patience and not counting days too much. You also need not worry about positions or how much semen stays inside her etc etc
Please ensure she is taking folic acid.
