Reduction of prescribed dosage

Asked for Male, 19 Years

Hello, my friend has a PCOS and her doctor advised her to take 10mg provera 2x a day for 10 days. My friend experience extreme pain in the breast and pelvic area and dizziness. I saw in some drug references 2.5-10mg for 5-10 days are the recommended dosages. Can we reduce the dosage to 1 tablet a day for 10 days to reduce the side effects as well?
