Recurrent utis in pregnancy
I am 21 weeks pregnant. Just a week before i finished 7 days antibiotic course of zocef 250 mg twice for 7 days for urine infection which showed 18-20 pus cells with e coli bacteria. Redid my urine routine and culture test done yesterday, routine report showed 25-30 pus cells this time and culture report is awaited. This is my fourth urine infection in these 5 months of pregnancy. My gynae is also concerned.. this is my second pregnancy as first one i lost to incompetent cervix at 24 weeks .. this time cerclage also done in 4 th month. 19 th week anomaly scan showed 3.8 cm cervix length with internal os closed..

The reason why you still have not been treated is inadequate dose of antibiotic 250 is not adult dose repeat urine culture and a proper dosage should be given as per sensitivity
