Recommendations required on ROP Treatmen
My baby was born on 13th nov 2022 post 31. Week of pregnancy. Born 1.5 kg, stable since day 1, doctors him on oxygen for 2 days & finally got discharged on 9 dec 2022 Weigh 1.8 kg. After discharge the first follow up for ROP is on 21ST DEC. The ROP was in stage 1 zone 2. The recent follow up is on 21st Jan, stage 1-2 zone 2. There is no progress, there is a small portion of zone 2 and entire zone 3 is not developed. As per the doctor's recommendation we should go for laser treatment as the baby is not making progress. Somebody please help us with the following queries: 1) should we go for the laser treatment, is it the right time or should we wait ?? One of the doc is saying we should wait and another one is asking us for a right away treatment, am confused, pls help. 2) usually If the rop doesn't progress what are the chances it will regress ?? 3) is there any vision loss after laser treatment ?? 4) pls recommend the best rop treatment hospital and doctor ??

Zone II stage 2 will require laser if there is plus disease which can be determined after a dilated retina check up. If recommended it must be done immediately to save sight. There is no vision loss induced by the laser treatment. It can performed by retina specialist. It is done at our centre.
