If mouth opening is really good and 3rd molar is well aligned than go for RCT followed by crown . By chance if RCT is not succesful we have still chance for extraction
If Wisdom tooth is functional ,properly aligned and fully erupted , sufficient enough mouth opening is there to perform RCT followed by crown, and you have physical ailments where even simple extraction is usually avoided you can opt rct . However Extraction is a permanent solution for nonfuntional wisdom tooth .
If mouth opening is good , whole tooth is visible and present vertically and lower teeth is also present then you can go for RCT followed by crown. In case you have doubt of failure of RCT later on extraction is possible. But RCT from a qualified dentist or an endodontist will last long.
If you want to save the tooth you may go ahead with RCT, like any procedure there are chances of failure. You may extract the tooth if you don’t want to save the tooth. You don’t have to worry about supra eruption in case of a third molar and that too in a 52 yr old patient
Namaskaram,
Wisdom teeth are placed very conveniently in a position where our food reaches first but our tooth brush reaches last as a result a lot of maintenance required for these particular teeth. Hence in most of the cases an extraction of these teeth are regarded as the best option until and unless you are more fond of them and would want them to be saved with an rct. Supra eruption should not bother you much it be the last thing you should be worried about .
