If your baby is taking complementary feeds that includes iron rich foods like green leafy vegetables, legumes etc then you may stop the supplementation unless there is a definite deficiency. Visibly pale, irritability, eating mud/ wall paint, bottle feeding, worms in stools could be some situations which indicate iron deficiency anemia.
Deworming every 6 months should be ensured.
In case your baby is very pale/ has yellow eyes/ losing blood from any part/ has required blood transfusions, baby needs further evaluation.
