Asked for Male, 22 Years

I have undergone 2 unnecessary ct scans in 5 months. CECT abdomen pelvis for abdomen pain and ct scan of nose. Both are normal but I'm concerned about radiation. In CECT abdomen pelvis in it pre contrast arterial venous coronal and sagittal images are taken. What is dose of this ct scan(msv) Please help

It is difficult to call any ct scans unnecessary just because they came normal. Even normal ct scan hold a lot of information as it rules out many POSSIBILITIES for which it is planned. Whether it was unnecessary can only be said if it was not required in first place. Don't worry. 2 ct scans is not that high dose to worry. It is little high.

now the problem for which ct was done may be discussed. many intestinal problems are not detectable in ct. many of them are detectable.
