Rabbies Vaccination
Hi, My situation basically revolves around two questions. I got bitten by a pet dog on 5th of Aug. I got the full anti- rabbies Vaccination purchased from pharmacy along with tetanus. On 8th of Aug(3rd Day), as I was not getting the vaccine from pharmacy, I went to government hospital, and they gave me skin dose(not the full one). As 12th was a holiday, and I managed to get the vaccine from pharmacy, I took the full dose on 11th(6th day). Tomorrow i.e 19th(14th day) I will be visiting hospital again and would be taking that skin dose again and then on 28th day. My queries are: -Does the above schedule sounds fine? -Is there any difference between taking full dose and the other one(skin dose- small one) that government hospital gives. - I took the 3rd dose a day before it's scheduled date. Is that fine? Pl guide and suggest. Regards,

Hello firstly please check whether pet dog is vaccinated and if dog is fine. If both things are there then you don’t have to take full course of rabies vaccine. 3 doses are fine. Also check from hospital are they giving immunoglobulin or vaccine . Immunoglobulin are given intradermal and vaccine intra muscular. One day up and down is normal you don’t have to worry about. So relax
