Hi! The HCG injection will ensure that the follicles rupture and this will help you better time the fertile period . HCG hormone also helps in the final maturation of the egg and supports early pregnancy . It has no adverse effects short term or long term on the pregnancy or your reproductive health .

As your egg do not ruptured at about 20 mm, it need support for getting ruptured. This time your Dr. Waited to see this, so it is late. If you do not conceive in this cycle, next cycle take Siphacy at 18mm size of follicle, and it is almost safe.
