Query about trimethoprim

Asked for Male, 27 Years

Hi It is not a problem as such. I was just wondering Should Trimethoprim be given to a baby 3/4 months, bearing in mind getting was six weeks earlier than his due date? He was put on this drug as he had an E-coli Infection. I am under the impression there would have been more suitable antibiotics to give him, is this correct?
