Premolar Dental abcess
Hello , I am a 40 years old male undergone 2nd upper molar teeth RCT 10 years back. An small abcess was developed 2 months back in sept 23 on that part of the gum where RCT done. After taking antibiotics pus was cleared but still there is a swelling. Right now the swelling is slightly increased in size but no pus. Dentist advised me to do reRCT or tooth removal with tooth implementation. Kindly suggest which is the better treatment? In this kind of cases is the swelling increased in size without pus or there is anything to worry for increasing the size?

Hi, It always better to save your own natural teeth, extraction should be last resort. so kindly consider a RE-RCT. It has high success rates..

Hie sir, Nothing to worry, jus save that tooth by doing Re -root canal treatment .kindly visit a Endodontist for this procedure…once the filling removed from your tooth.your swelling will completely subside…so don’t worry. Thank you.

You may need to undergo RE-RCT/Extraction depending on the tooth condition. Better go for an x ray first. Depending on x ray, treatment modality can be advised.

Hi, Please share the X-ray that was taken to advise you better on what will be the better treatment option. Swelling indicates infection and requires immediate treatment.
