There are two types of test for ovulation. One is hormonal, like prolactin , thyroid function and other hormonal tests like fsh,lh and amh. Second one is ultrasound also called as folliculography when your doctor calls you about 3 to 4 times during the first part of menstrual cycle to see for development of follicle and for documenting ovulation. If u are not ovulating , doctor will give u drugs to develop follicles and make u ovulate. Tube test is to see whether your fallopian tube are open or not.

If you are not ovulating, doctors will put you on medication to make you ovulate. And will tell you when to try accordingly. If you are not ovulating it is a sign of hormonal imbalance, which would need to be corrected. Tube testing is done to look for any blocks in the Fallopian tubes, it is also done to assess for infertility.
