Hello,
Recently we get to know my wife is pregnant and we went to one gynaecologist recomended by my close friends. Doctor told us to do few blood tests for pregnancy confirmation.after the results of the report we got to know that she is 100% pregnant.Also she is found with a little bit high in blood pressure. she suggested folic acid capsules, saches of ags 90 for bp control and progestrone. So we asked why she suggested progestrone drug in early pregnancy but the answer was not satisfactory and we have read many myths about progestrone.now we are confused whether is it safe to take progestrone? And why she recomended this drug to my wife.

If it is first time Pregnancy, usually progesterone are not given unless there is any complaint of past abortion. Bleeding etc.
But if she has given it the reason that it make ur uterus relax, it prevent process of abortion by supporting foetus
