My girlfriend and I have been trying for a child for about 3 months. Two days ago she began bleeding (3 days before her period) the bleeding was light pink and was not heavy, however yesterday it was fairly heavy. but it stopped today. is this normal?

Yes almost it is normal.If any doubt do pregnancy test either by urine or blood.Bhcg is blood test and reliable also.If negative result wait for few more days or contact to gynaecologist for further details.
