Pregnancy Viability
“Hello Doctor, I am 31 years old. As per LMP (06/12/2025) I am 6w5d pregnant. TVS on 22/01/2026 shows a single intrauterine pregnancy with regular gestational sac 20.3 mm, yolk sac 3.4 mm, embryo seen with CRL 3.3 mm (≈6w0d) and only cardiac flicker noted. Cervix is closed and left ovary has a likely corpus luteal cyst. Is cardiac flicker alone normal at this stage, does the CRL–LMP difference suggest delayed growth or can it catch up, and what are the chances of normal progression on the next scan?”

This is completely normal for this gestational age. You can get a scan done after a week or two to confirm the cardiac activity.

This is normal but a follow up scan is required for confirmation of cardiac activity after 1-2 weeks. Don't panic.

This is a normal finding at this gestation. You will be called for a repeat scan in 1-2 weeks for heart rate measurement. The dates will be corrected if needed accordingly. Your baby's growth will be considered according to the newly assigned. These early scans do not suggest growth delay, they are just meant to correctly date the pregnancy.
