Pregnancies happen when sperm relesed at sex, goes and meets the ovum in the body of the female
While sperms are released at every act of sex, the ovum is released only once a month. This ovum releasebis not constant, it doesnot happen all 12 months in a year.
The ovum when released has life of only 24-48 hrs.
So sex done at ovum release only can help cause pregnancy to happen.
When ovulation occurs is not known by simple means. On an average if a couple doesn't have sex for 2 days of this ovulation, pregnancy won't happen.
So by statistics it is estimated that a couple needs about one year of unprotected sex to have tried for pregnancy.
