My wife is 28 weeks 2days pregnant and all of the sudden the Sugar level is high @ 7 month now she is under diabetic medication now the sugar level is getting control but I m worried about the baby how does it affect baby .

Shes is suffering from gestational diabetes mellitus in which the sugar levels rise in around 7th month and most of the times go back to normal without delivery. The baby will be fine if her sugar levels are within strict targets ie. premeals <90 95, 2 hr post meals <130. If left uncontrolled, there are chances of the baby gaining unwanted weight, difficulty in delivery, low sugar levels in the baby after delivery, as well as risk of diabetes when the baby grows up to adulthood.
