Asked for Male, 34 Years

My gf is pregnant her last period was the first of Jan but she spotted a couple weeks later. She took a hpt in Feb but it was negative but she says she has felt like she was pregnant for a couple months now. She took a hpt last Thursday and it was pos. The dr did blood work and said she was 3 to 5 weeks pregnant I was wandering how can this be if she hasn't hadone a period since Jan? How accurate are the blood tests for determining how fare along her pregnancy is?
