Pregnancy check up

Asked for Female, 28 Years

My wife is 2 months pregnant and during her regular check up one of the doctor did sonography in order to confirm the pregnancy. I am not knowledgeable that this is the normal way but my wife is worried as she heard a lot of - ve feedback abt this and she is advised to avoid such test in her initial.
