Your fear is justified. Methotrexate can cause birth defects if taken during pregnancy. However you are not currently taking the drug which is a good thing. The recommendation is to have at least one month gap for females and three month gap for males before trying to conceive. Instead of letting fear get the best of you, go see your doctor. Alot also depends on the dose of methotrexate that you were taking. Positive thing here is that you were not taking the drug during conception. Maximum half life of methotrexate is 15 hours. So the drug washes out of body in some hours to days. Still.. I suggest you visit your doctor for a consultation. Discuss the possibility of blood methotrexate level test and its relevance in your case. All the best..
Next Steps
Start taking folic acid supplements immediately. It protects the baby from neural tube defects.
Health Tips
Keep a positive attitude for healthy outcome if you continue with this pregnancy.

Homeopathy offers a much better treatment option for people suffering from Rheumatoid Arthritis. That is because Homeopathy does not aim at providing short term relief for RA. On the contrary, Homeopathic medicines for RA are aimed at completely curing and eradicating the inflammation of the joints. Of course, this requires some time as the immune system has to get back into its original shape where it recognizes one’s own body as a friend and not as an enemy. In my experience, Homeopathic treatment is by far the best treatment for RA when one considers the long term effects of the treatment. It is purely a natural treatment for RA and no steroids or synthetic medicines are used. A homeopathic constitutional treatment will give you a permanent cure naturally You can easily take an online consultation for further treatment guidance and permanent cure without any side effects Medicines will reach you via courier services Visit my website www.drhimanihomeocure.com
